This months speaker is Sandy Corbin!

Sandy is a wonderful, well-known member of our Guild. She began sewing in junior high school and was quilting in the 70’s, then started taking classes in the 80s. She says that by the 90s she was “obsessed with all things quilting.” This led to her love for making scrappy quilts. She founded her business titled “Sandy’s Designs” in 2002 and began offering beautiful, colorful patterns and projects. During this time, Sandy started teaching at local quilt shops.

Sandy has been a member of Beach Cities Quilters Guild for many years. We have been lucky to have her serve as our President, VP Programs, Quilt Show Chair and many other guild positions.

Her presentation is titled “The Secret Society of Quilters” where she discusses the rewards of being a part of the society of quilters. Lucky us! Sandy is bringing 30 table toppers and small quilts to discuss, motivate and boost our creativity.

Sandy’s Workshop class on Friday will be “All About the Borders” where we will learn how to make four special border styles and incorporate them into a pillow. The pillow would be great in many color ways for your home of sewing room.
